Evita Bezuidenhout is now 91, always ten years older than her imposter.
She has been in the public domain since 1981 when she, as South African Ambassador to Bapetikosweti, caught the public’s ear and eye. She has experienced the dramas of the National Party’s chalk becoming the ANC’s cheese. Still cooking for reconciliation in the kitchen of Luthuli House, Tannie Evita keeps her opinions carefully to herself. However, with the municipal elections due in early November, some things just cannot be restrained.
Evita at 91 will prove once again that we must remember where we come from, so that we can celebrate where we are going.
As she says: ‘We don’t need a crystal ball to see what will happen to South Africa. The future of our country is certain; it’s just the past that is unpredictable!”

Much loved South African comedian, Alan Committie, is performing two shows at SIMONS RESTAURAUNT of his latest stand-up material from his show AVA-LAUGH-TA!
28 years of making people laugh around South Africa and as far abroad as Los Angeles, New York and London, Committie is back with an evening of hilarity as he talks about passport photos, could SA win a war against America, explores rental car stress; audiobooks gone wrong; musical theatre escapes; Italian bus journeys and online password pressures…PLUS he brings out his flipchart to explore relationships and anti-Malaria medication….
This all-new solo show features his usual witty wordplay, fast paced jabs and jibes, madcap physical hi-jinx and a comic look at events around the world in the last 12 months….
Alan Committie has written 28 solo stand-up shows over the years and is also well known for his starring role in DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN (974 performances over 8 years). He was inducted into the COMICS CHOICE HALL OF FAME in 2025!
